Formation/Occurrence:

In semiconductor processes, electrolysis, pickling of metals with arsenic impurities, or phosphoric acid production.

Limit Values:

Very low workplace limit values (ppb–low ppm depending on country); short-term limit values are strict.

Effects of High Concentrations:

Hemolytic poison; headache, nausea, hemolysis, kidney failure, potentially fatal.

Special Notes:

Sense of smell unreliable; continuous gas detection and emergency plan (evacuation, respiratory protection) essential.
