Fair, local production ensures quality
The air-Q air analyzer is manufactured in-house by us. Even so, we can’t do without external service providers, since PCB manufacturing and assembly, for example, are highly specialized tasks. For the production of the air-Q, we rely on local service providers and suppliers — not only our specialists for PCB manufacturing, but also for the housing. These short distances let us continuously monitor quality and work more closely with our partners. It also saves on transport routes, which in turn benefits the environment.
Doing the math on carbon dioxide
The air-Q consists of several hundred different components. We’ve traced our carbon footprint. In total, we’re responsible for 5.56 kg of carbon dioxide emissions for an average-equipped air-Q — a very low figure, achieved only through the conscious selection of components and suppliers. For comparison: manufacturing an average smartphone causes around 100 kg of carbon dioxide.
More trees for less CO₂ in the air
The air-Q’s very small carbon footprint is offset by the growth of a single tree (beech) within an average of half a year. That’s why, once a year, we plant trees in Germany with our partner PLANT-MY-TREE. We assume an average lifespan of 20 years per tree.
