What is the lifespan of the air-Q / the sensors in the air-Q?

The lifespan of the air-Q depends on the lifespan of its individual sensors (see Hardware) and is at least five years. The service life of each sensor depends on its respective measurement principle. Here are a few examples:

  • Particulate matter sensor measures particles optically. No wear.
  • Carbon monoxide sensor measures using a chemical principle. Lifespan > ten years
  • Carbon dioxide sensor uses an optical measurement principle. No wear.
  • Sulfur dioxide sensor > five years
  • Ozone sensor > five years
  • Oxygen sensor measures using the principle of optical luminescence. Lifespan > 5 years
  • Nitrogen dioxide sensor measures electrochemically. Lifespan > 5 years
  • VOC sensor > ten years

The datasheet lists the lifespans and service lives for all sensors.
